The au pair is a young person between age of 18 and 26 years old and comes from abroad. The au pair likes to stay for a period of one year in the Netherlands to experience the Dutch culture and its habits. The host family will provide the au pair free room, board and pocket money. In return the au pair will help the family with childcare and light household duties.
The host family must be confident with entrusting the care of their child or children to our au pair. The au pair must also feel at home with the host family. How we achieve this is something you can read in the lines below.
The au pairs who are selected by World Wide Au Pair & Nanny must at least have an education on Community College (Preparatory Program) level. Part of the selection procedure for an au pair is passing an interview. Besides the interview the au pair needs to show evidence of good conduct (no criminal record) & a reference of good health. In the country of origin the au pair must also show proof of former childcare experience.
World Wide Au Pair & Nanny has set up a number of guidelines which applies to both the host family and the au pair. On registration, both parties declare that they are aware of these guidelines and that they agree to them. Below is a list of the most important guidelines.
The working hours are determined by the host family in consultation with the au pair. The most important task of the au pair is taking care of your child. Other work responsibilities are: washing and dressing, changing diapers, preparing meals, taking the child to school, helping with homework etc.
In addition the au pair contributes to household work such as: vacuuming cleaning, dusting and children's laundry and ironing.
The au pair can stay in the Netherlands for a maximum time of one year.
The au pair has a 30-hour working week. The au pair has the right to be at least 2 days off per week. Flexible work schedule can be filled in depending on the needs in consultation with the au pair.
The amount of pocket money for the au pair is 300 Euro per month.
The au pair is entitled to have 14 working days plus every national holiday off with pay per year.
The au pair must be given the opportunity to follow a course or an educational program during her free time.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to deal with all the facets that surround the au pair activities on this website. Would you like to have any further information about our programs, concerning enrolment, visa procedures, fees etc., please feel free to contact us. We are also happy to send you our free information set including our full colour brochure.
